Version 1.82 fixes one more bug.
These fixes apply to both Ward and Stake Central
- Fixes a problem downloading data when a phone number from a member in a leadership position includes a single quote character.
Who would have thunk someone would put a quote character in a phone number field?
I purchased Ward Central Premium, but find that there are several things that are missing:
ReplyDeleteBirthdays (OK, leave out the year, but give me dates)
ALL the ward callings (the same ones I can get by logging into MLS) not just the very few you now show.
Home teaching - by home teacher and by family. These may need to be restricted to those with apropriate callings, but as HP group leader, this information is essential to me.
Ward Central was intended to be a tool for all members and not just those with access to the MLS data files. There are other tools available that read MLS data files and provide confidential information, home teaching and more detailed calling information.
ReplyDeleteWard Central does not read the MLS data files. It reads all of the information from the lds.org website. There are no birthdays on the website. There is no home teaching information on the website. All of the callings available on the website should show up in the app.
Duane, ward and stake leadership information available in MLS can be put on your iPhone/Android/WindowsMoble device using an app called WardTools (http://www.wardtools.org/) Since most of us are not in leadership positions, Ward Central does an outstanding job at pulling down all the ward info off of the lds.org web site. The downside of WardTools is that your ward clerk needs to extract the files for you from MLS. Ward Central is for the masses and you don't need a clerk to give you any special files.

ReplyDeleteI keep getting the following error: "An error occured while Logging into lds.org: Not trusted server certificate during GET.. Your netowrk signal strength may be insufficient or the servers at lds.org may be busy. Try again later." I have 4 bars of signal and I can go to lds.org using my web browser on my phone. I also logged into my ward login on my computer and it worked fine so I don't think anything is wrong with the lds.org website. Will you please look into this? Thanks!

ReplyDeleteWould like to be able to save them to my exchange account's contacts and not my gmail. Can you add a setting where the contacts will be saved?
ReplyDeleteAlso, there is a bug that where if the phone number has a space, it sends %20 to the phone where the space is. (ie (888) 555-1212, goes to the phone as (888)%205551212).
